I look to the sky
And think of that night
A bright evening hue
Lit in glorious light
A sign to the world
Of the Love of God
A heavenly veil unfurled
Proclaiming peace to all
What would I do
If I’d looked up that night
Would I question its worth
Or rejoice in delight?
Would I the wonder deride
And go on my way
Or put concern aside
To share with a friend?
The best answer I know
But would I do it?
Do I have the courage to show
What should be done?
The world, it laughs at me
But still I must go on
To show them what I see
Despite the difficulties
As the shepherds of old
I must witness the glory
Then go to my friends
To share this great story
I am not forgotten
For He has come to earth
God’s only begotten
My hope and salvation!
