The sun's light dimmed to a tainted red
Despite the silence of the empty yard
Chaos swirls in the dense air
Blown in from the corners of the world
Fleck of anger fall from the sky
Landing everywhere leaving a thick coat of hatred
Where is the pure blue sky with white cotton clouds?
What happened to the majestic blinding brightness of the sun?
Long for an encompassing breath of refreshing air,
Wish for a gentle breeze and a calm silence.
Flowing with the blessed bounties from the world,
The seed of hope floating placidly by
Landing everywhere and coating it with love.
Against all gloomy attempts, discouragement fails.
This beautiful world is still existing!
Though veiled, the blue sky remains guarding
The majestic sun continues to rule within it
The sought for fresh air awaits its return
The delightful breeze, it comes despite the chaos
Flowing within it the bounteous blessings of the world
And the quiet hopeful seeds nonchalantly flow through
Softly building patches of love among the hate.
Commentary:
Another one of those sit down and write up poems. It's really interesting to do these just to see what comes out of my head. I certainly hope this one makes sense to everyone. It's been six months since the corona virus began affecting things, and I know a lot has happened since. There has been a continuous search of trying to balance staying informed with what's going on in the world and trying not to delve into too much. One thing I've learned over the difficulties of the past few years in my personal life is that there is such of a thing as finding peace despite all the chaos going on around me. There are things I've had to learn and things I've had to accept along the way, but the peace is still there and ready for us to find. As a part of this poem, I'm also pointing out one big thing that I always advocate and that's the existence of hope and finding it. Darkness is there, but so is light. Don't focus so much on the first that it brings you down.
