Light is Reborn

When befalls the solemn darkness of night
Brighter gleams the glorious streams of light
When the flesh loses its limited strength
Somehow footsteps find an increase in length
All energy life's appetite devours
Left behind, a hope and will empowers
Burdened by the pressed challenges of day
Support flows from hearts who secretly pray
In appearance alone on this wild ride
Feeling a presence sitting to the side
A daunting cloud hovers at first morn
Yet darkness is cast, and light is reborn.

Commentary:

Poetry in rhyme today, because it seemed the thing to do. There are a lot of challenges happening around me in society, in the weather as I witness the effects of not only record high heat, but also extreme drought conditions, but most important of all, the things that are happening within my family's life as well as my own as I support and help pick them back up on their feet. The past month has been extremely challenging for me and for those I'm taking care of, but things are looking up. I'm optimistic that it will all work out.

About the mention of secret prayers, I've had some feelings during this time that there are people I'm unaware of out there who may have become aware of my situation and are including me in their prayers and I'm thankful for that. I'm really not entirely aware of it while I'm in the middle of it all, but I'm certain in time I'll come to recognize how much that helps me.

Thank you.
