Snow

Snow

White
Pure, untouched by color
Yet in light, comprised of all colors
A wholeness
Unblemished
Small, lace like flakes
Glide down from the sky
A graceful dance
Dressed in this glorious hue
Caressing the earth as they land
Until all the world is white
The beauty of the scene
Sends the world into a quiet reverence
A silence, a feeling of awe
The world sits still for a moment
White, fresh, pure

Snow poetry.  Got to love them.  Written in description of a winter snow fall.  The gentleness of a snow storm calms the mind when it's looked at the right way.  People create the ugly in their minds.  It is in itself an amazing beautiful miracle that we should be thankful, especially in parts where we depend on the snow for our needs.  Just the thought of it is calming to me.

I feel a little out of place, because wherever I am all I get are bad vibes from people when it comes to winter and snow.  I get that traveling in it is the worst.  I don't like that part myself.  They also complain about the cold, but honestly it's a proven fact that--at least where I live--when it snows, the air is actually warmer, because the clouds act as insulation.  It's not until the storm clears out that the cold sets in.  Plus storm systems clean out the bad air.  So we should be happy to see snow!

Perhaps part of this is just my personality.  I confess I am super bad at being critical and complaining.  I was always bad at it.  I have a super positive outlook on things, and perhaps that gets me into trouble sometimes, but that won't be discussed here.  It's almost natural for me to see the positive, even though the negative is staring me in the face.  I suppose that's a good thing.
