Worth It

The grown trees that tower overhead spread out branches in wholehearted welcome
While birds flutter branch to branch singing and calling a sweet peaceful tune
A gentle breeze flows through the leaves dancing in the flickering light
An old apricot tree waits and watches as an old wise guardian
The nearby rocks hold firm in their place, immovable
Flowers rise from the ground, a reminder of nature's beauty
Mountains reign in mighty glory and power
Tickled by passing clouds heavy with unbearable tears
Rain falls down in joy, and in grief
But then it turns into the rainbow, and hope is returned.
The precious cycle of life:
A beautiful sight;
An amazing experience;
Worth it.

Commentary:

I haven't written a poem for some time, so I'm doing a few exercises to help me get into the right connection before writing a purposeful poem concerning some difficult situations I've been made aware of with friends and others lately. The international news, national news, community news, and even within my own friend and family circle have been so sorrowful lately, and I want to work up to something appropriate to be sensible to these people. In the meanwhile, enjoy my exercises.
