The Camel Puller

Long is the day we have walked
But still hold our peace as we go.
We are not alone.
Bound together in purpose,
We follow each other;
We follow the leader,
Who is lead by the Camel Puller

How dear to us is the Camel Puller
What trust we have in Him!
He who places burdens on our backs
And knows how much we can bear.
He cares for our sores caused by them.
He knows how to shelter us
When terrible snow storms brew.
He feeds us well
And wards us off from poisonous food.
Taking care that we are watered well,
He lets us drink, but not too much.
His eyes are on us constantly to keep us healthy.

The Camel Puller guides the leader
And we, bound to the leader, follow.
Why must we follow?
We trust Him
We have faith in Him
We love Him
He is our Hope and our Help.

This is our strength as we travel
Through life in one unified caravan.

Commentary:

There is a mountain nearby that I have always observed since I was a child.  It is mostly stripped of trees and is only covered with grasses due to the direct exposure it has to the sun, but on the top of its ridge sits a line of trees that run down it as it comes down toward the lower elevations.  They always looked to me like a line of camels following each other, and so I personally call that line of trees, "The Caravan."  I don't know if this is what sparked my line of thought or something else, but somehow I got thinking about caravans and started looking into the process of how they work during their travels.

I found a connection between this process and how God cares for us.  He is the leader, and through him we are bound to leaders who guide us as He guides them, and even with that, He is still attentive to the needs of each of us, and sees to it that those needs are taken care of.  It is a little bit of a different expression, but I hope I was able to explain it appropriately.
