What do I see?
Wisps of clustered miracles
Looking down upon me!
I behold within the dark expanse, twinkling stars,
Peering into my soul.
A gentle breeze caresses my face,
Soothing me into a lull.
The hushed silence of the evening air,
Calms my unsettled mind.
The shadows of darkness shield my closed eyes,
In peaceful slumber I unwind.
Commentary:
Yes, I'm still alive! It's been a while. Trying to get things figured out this year has kept me distracted, but I finally got myself to sit down and write something. This is written thinking of a different season from now, since it's been snowing the last day or two, but even then, the majority of this poem can be included with any season of the year.
Feeling a little rusty, so these aren't my long thought-provoking poems, but it's a step in the right direction. I'm guessing it still works for some. In the craziness of this world, I hope things are going well for you. The holidays are here, so I wish you the best of this season.
